Frequently Asked Questions
What is FabJob?
FabJob Inc. is the leading publisher of career guide books on how to get started in a dream career. Established online at www.FabJob.com in 1999, FabJob is an award-winning organization, named "the #1 place to get published online" by Writer’s Digest, with an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Our company and career guides have been featured in media ranging from ABC to Oprah’s newsletter and major news sites ranging from CNN to the Wall Street Journal online. You can read more about us by clicking on the ABOUT US link at the top of this page.
What is included in a FabJob guide?
FabJob guides typically range from 240 to 360 pages of searchable information about how to get started in a specific dream career. Most guides include information about: how to do the job, how to get experience, how to get hired, how to start a business, how to set your fees or prices, and how to get clients or customers. You can read a detailed list of topics covered in each guide on the page for that particular guide. Click on the GUIDES link at the top of this page to find links to each FabJob guide.
What are the credentials of Fabjob guide authors?
Since being named "the #1 place to get published online" by Writer's Digest several years ago, we have been fortunate to attract outstanding guide authors. Some FabJob guides have been written by experts in a particular career field, but most FabJob guides are written by one or more professional writers whose research includes interviewing multiple experts who have achieved success in the career. Most of the FabJob guide pages mention some of the experts interviewed for that particular guide.
I bought an e-book from another company and was disappointed. How do I know your guide will be better?
We won't comment specifically about other online publishers, but we can assure you of a few things about FabJob. FabJob guides are exceptionally high quality publications, some of which have been used as textbooks and in the library collections of respected academic institutions ranging from the University of Texas to the Fashion Institute of Technology. All FabJob guides are professionally edited by English-speaking editors, and the testimonials on our website are by real people. FabJob also offers a 100% risk-free money-back guarantee on e-books, unlike publishers whose "satisfaction guarantee" does not allow refunds for e-books.
What format is the guide in?
The guide is an e-book in PDF format. To download and read the guide you need the current version of Adobe Reader. Most people already have Adobe Reader on their computer. If you need it, you can download it free at http://get.adobe.com/reader.
What if I need help downloading or accessing the guide?

How much does it cost to buy a guide from FabJob?
Our guides have previously sold for up to $39.95 each online (up to $49.95 retail for a FabJob guide with CD-ROM). Because we wanted to make our guides available to as many people as possible, you can now get most FabJob e-books for only $19.97 U.S.
How do I pay for my guide?
FabJob accepts payment through PayPal, the world's most trusted way to pay online. With PayPal you can make a payment from your PayPal account, your bank account, or your Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card.
What if I don’t have a PayPal account?
If you don't have a PayPal account you can either open an account with PayPal and then make your payment through your PayPal account or, if you would prefer not to open a PayPal account, it is not necessary to do so. You can still pay through PayPal with your Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card without opening a PayPal account.
Is it safe to order online?
Yes. More than a half-million customers have safely ordered from the FabJob.com website since 1999. Your payment will be made through PayPal, the world's most trusted way to pay online, and your personal information will be kept private. FabJob has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau which you can read about here.
Will there be any additional charges?
A few credit card companies charge a small fee (under $2) for charges processed in a different country. If that happens to you, let us know and we will gladly reimburse you for any nominal fee charged by your credit card company.
Do you have a money-back guarantee?
Yes. We are so confident that FabJob e-books can help you achieve your dreams, we will give you a full refund if you notify us within 60 days that you're not happy with your purchase. Simply email fabcare@fabjob.com and we will refund your money, no questions asked, for the e-books you ordered as long as you have not initiated a dispute or chargeback with your credit card company. (We must fight and win chargeback claims to prevent paying a chargeback fee of $20 on top of the refund.) To prevent fraud, refunds will be made only to the credit card used for the purchase.
Can I interview you for a story?
If you are writing a story for a media outlet (magazine, newspaper, popular website, TV) in North America, contact us by email at fabcare@fabjob.com or phone 1-888-FABJOB-1 (1-888-322-5621). All media interviews on behalf of FabJob are done by FabJob co-founder Tag Goulet. Even if we can't connect for an interview, we're happy to provide complimentary FabJob guides to recognized media outlets anywhere in the world.
Can I sell your guides online?
If you would like to sell FabJob e-books, and have a well established website in a niche related to FabJob, you may be eligible to become a FabJob affiliate to earn a 33% commission on FabJob e-books you sell through your website. To avoid being penalized by Google, we can accept only a small number of affiliates. The sites we partner with are at least several years old, recently updated, well written in English, and focus on a specific niche (e.g. etiquette consulting or event planning). Before applying to join our affiliate program, please contact us at fabcare@fabjob.com.
Will you sell us your customer list?
Sorry, but the answer is no. We promise our customers we will not provide their personal information to any other companies.
Will you give me a certificate?
If you want to have a certificate in your dream career, you can find certificate courses based on FabJob guides at our affiliated career college, International Association of Professions Career College. IAP Career College offers affordable 6-week part-time career certificate courses online. For information, visit the IAP Career College website at www.iapcollege.com.
Can you give us a donation?
FabJob currently provides ongoing support to several charitable and non-profit organizations, including The Rainforest Foundation, American Forests, and the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. From time to time we also donate proceeds of guide sales to specific charities, as we have done with the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund, the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund, the Children's Burn Foundation, and the Laughter Heals Foundation, and we have also donated thousands of FabJob guides to the unemployed through Working Wardrobes, a nonprofit that helps men and women in crisis re-enter the workforce. You can request a donation (financial or products) by contacting us at fabcare@fabjob.com.
Can I work for you?
If you would like a rewarding position with a leading indie book publisher, we invite you to apply to work with FabJob. If we're a fit for you and you're a fit for us, you will join an organization that good workers want to stay with; the first two people we hired 15 years ago are still with us and our best contractors typically return to work with us again and again. Because of our extremely low turnover, we rarely have job openings, however we do keep resumes for future opportunities.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have any of the following skills: book design using InDesign, web development in WordPress and WooCommerce, social media marketing, online research, curriculum development, customer service, project coordination, media relations, academic writing, editing non-fiction, business coaching (for faculty member positions with our affiliated college). If you want to work with us, see our current job openings at our IAP Career College site.

Will you hire me as a motivational speaker (or celebrity assistant, fashion designer, interior decorator, etc.)?
No. FabJob is a publishing company, not an employment agency. We publish guides about how to get hired in these and other career fields, but we don't do the hiring ourselves.
What if I have a question that has not been answered here?
